In 2002 Mike Cambridge established Cantab Consulting Ltd to provide expert services to the minerals and water industries, providing advice and undertaken auditing of reservoirs and tailings management facilities, particularly for water supply, metalliferous and industrial minerals projects throughout the world. Cantab Consulting provided the expert services to the mining, quarrying and water industries based on the expertise of the Principal, Mike Cambridge, for more than twenty years’. Of particular interest the Company provided specialist expertise in the auditing of mine and quarry projects throughout the world, particularly with regard to the design, construction, operation and closure of waste depositories. Through the Company and its expert associates, due diligence and auditing services covering underground operations and mine planning, surface and groundwater hydrology and environmental assessments were undertaken. The Company was responsible for auditing more than 50 embankment dams for the containment of mineral residues and for water storage annually, and for advising on geotechnical and hydrological compliance for more than 25 aggregate quarries. Cantab Consulting was extensively engaged over a period of more than twenty years in due diligence and mine permitting studies, reviewing environmental impact assessments, mine plans, mine dewatering and waste disposal proposals for a range of base and precious metal projects.
